DREAM Act Reintroduced in Senate

December 05, 2005

The bipartisan Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act of 2005 (S. 2075) was introduced on November 18, 2005 by Sens. Richard Durbin (D-IL), Chuck Hagel (R-NE), and Richard Lugar (R-IN). The bill is very similar to the measure that was approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee during the 108th Congress, and would allow for undocumented immigrant children to gain legal status if they are in the process of pursuing higher education.
