Since 1985,Stern Elkind Curray & Alterman has limited its practice to immigration law, with a special emphasis on matters relating to the employment of foreign professionals. Mr. Stern and Ms. Elkind founded the firm with the goal of providing the very best immigration advice and representation to our clients. Expected Spike in H-1B Filings Not Seen

The Service Center Operations unit of USCIS has indicated that it has NOT seen the expected spike in H-1B filings since April 1, when employers were permitted to file H-1B petitions with start dates beginning October 1 or later subject to the fiscal year 2005 cap. According to the sources, the volume has been "surprisingly low" though no numbers were provided. (Courtesy AILA)
