Philip Alterman
Philip Alterman earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado in 1975 and earned his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 1978.

Emily J. Curray
Ms. Curray completed her J.D. at the University of Colorado. She joined Stern Elkind Curray & Alterman in 1996.
Prior to earning her law degree, she earned her masters in nutrition science, which is an asset to Stern Elkind Curray & Alterman in representing outstanding members of the scientific and research community.
Her practice encompasses all aspects of business and family immigration.

Nancy B. Elkind
Ms. Elkind has a Masters Degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin, and earned her J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law in 1979, and she has practiced immigration law exclusively since 1982.
- Ms. Elkind was named "Outstanding Woman in Business 2004" by the Denver Business Journal

David Harston
Mr. Harston graduated from the University of Denver in 1998 with a law degree and a master's degree in International Studies. Mr. Harston has been practicing immigration law, including business, family, asylum and deportation defense, since 1999. Mr. Harston is licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado and limits his practice to Immigration and Nationality law.

- He has served on the AILA Colorado Chapter's Executive Committee since 2004, and he currently serves as the Chapter Chair for AILA Colorado (2007-08)

Brad J. Hendrick
Mr. Hendrick earned a bachelor's Degree with Honors from the University of Michigan in 1996 and earned a law degree and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado in 2002. He has been practicing immigration law since 2002 and joined Stern Elkind & Curray in November 2004.
- Mr. Hendrick's practice focuses on employment based immigration with an emphasis on emerging organizations, investors, and health-care providers. He counsels individuals and corporations on all types of business immigration matters
- Prior to joining Stern Elkind & Curray, he was the Legal Services Coordinator and Staff Attorney for the Rocky Mountain Survivors Center, where he specialized in asylum and family-based immigration law and served as the coordinator for the RMSC Pro Bono Asylum Project
- Mr. Hendrick has been invited to lecture on a number of topics, including I-9 issues, Colorado immigration compliance, immigration court procedure and business issues
- Mr. Hendrick's experience and education focused on corporate finance, with an emphasis on mergers, acquisitions and entrepreneurship
Maya W. Monen
Ms. Monen received her law degree from the University of Colorado School of Law in 2004.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Oregon, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and cum laude.
Prior to joining Stern Elkind Curray & Alterman in 2006, Ms. Monen worked as in-house immigration counsel at Mountain States Employers Council, Inc. and as an associate attorney for Chandler Law Firm, LLP.
- She volunteers for Lawline at Channel 9 News, Legal Night at Mi Casa, Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network (RMIAN), and the Rocky Mountain Survivors Center (RMSC)

Beverly W. Oserow
Ms. Oserow received her bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University and a master's degree in business administration from Golden Gate University. She received her law degree from the University of Cincinnati.
- Ms. Oserow has a background in tax, estate planning and corporate law
- Since 1984 Ms. Oserow's practice has been limited to U.S. immigration and naturalization law with an emphasis in employment-based immigration, including investor visas, religious workers, intra company transferees, and labor certifications; as well as political asylum and family immigration

Kelly Ryan

Ms. Ryan has earned certificates in Global Studies, Latin America and Caribbean Studies and International Agriculture from the University of Georgia. She earned her J. D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2007.
- Ms. Ryan received the Scholastic Excellence Award for Immigration Law in 2005 and the Scholastic Excellence Award for Advanced Immigration Law in 2007
- She worked as an intern at the Southern Center for International Studies, in Atlanta, Georgia in 2000

Ms. Ryan has studied throughout Latin America and is proficient in Spanish. Her practice focuses on deportation defense.

Kenneth H. Stern
Mr. Stern received his law degree from the University of Denver in 1978, and has practiced immigration law since that time.
He is a past Chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Colorado Chapter, and has chaired or served on many national committees.
- Mr. Stern argued the case of Colorado v. Nunez before the United States Supreme Court, and the case of People v. Pozo before the Colorado Supreme Court
- In 1993, the national American Immigration Lawyers Association organization awarded Mr. Stern the Jack Wasserman Memorial Award for excellence in litigation in the field of immigration law
- In 2002 he was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Colorado Chapter of AILA
- In 2005, he was named "Best of the Bar" in immigration law by the Denver Business Journal

Lisa H. York
Ms. York earned her Bachelor's of Arts degree in International Affairs with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1991. She graduated from the University of Denver School of Law in 2002 and joined Stern Elkind & Curray in November 2002.
- She received the award for Scholastic Excellence in Immigration Law in the Fall of 2000
- She received another award in Advanced Immigration Law in the Spring of 2001
- Ms. York has lived and traveled extensively in Africa, Asia, and Europe
- For the past three years, she served as the Colorado Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) USICE Liaison
